NATTE JENOUB/06-22

NJ/06-22 : 170 cm x 240 cm

Description: This mat translates all the know-how of the weaving trades of the Smar mat.

From the drawing of the artist Meriem Bouderbela, the craftsmen have strived to delicately weave tinted rods by assembling them so that they conform to the drawing. This work requires a lot of patience.

Use: both outdoors and indoors. It can also be hung on the wall.

Material : The smar is the rush which is picked in the marshes between sea and land, in the north of Tunisia. Once sorted and dried, the Smar is woven into strips of several widths on a loom fixed to the ground to make floor mats and baskets.

Care : To clean, wipe with dry or slightly damp cloth.

Origin : Tunisia
